Welcome to the Philippines ESL Journal. The Journal is a
refereed publication
which aims at providing
on-line access
to all those involved
in the research, teaching
and learning of English as an International language.
The Philippine English as a Second Language Journal studies the structure
and development of English across the Philippines, and in particular, its relationship to and effect on local culture and local Filipino languages. The Journal is the sister journal to the long established Asian
EFL Journal.
The Philippine English as a Second Language Journal. The 1st Edition is scheduled for August 2008.
The Philippines is now the world's leading country in teaching of English. Over 176,000 Koreans study English in the Philippines monthly. Students from China and Japan are also in creasing in numbers. This unique phenomena is thus worthy of intense academic scrutiny. This Journal will examine all aspects of studying English as a Foreign language inside of an ESL (English Second language) setting.
